Sugarplum is a baby photography studio on Long Island. It uses a desaturated version of the actual color of a sugarplum, mixed with an abstraction of a “plum” graphic, mixed with a camera shutter.
A sugarplum is candied dried fruit — not real fruit — but a little creative liberty can go a long way. The brand is meant to feel cute, simple, charming, and relevant to the name and idea.
The type is a modified and redrawn version of a mix of different fonts (taking the best/most fitting elements from different handwriting styles), and is meant to feel playful, casual, and cute, and evoke a human touch.
