Village Apothecary is a compounding pharmacy with locations in Saugerties, Woodstock, and Lake Katrine, NY. The VA logo is a mortar & pestle visual, and the WA logo is an abstraction of a W as well as an obvious nod to the “green/natural” concept inherent to the business.
Both brands were designed to represent health, nutrition, and environment – all inherent to compounding — and are meant to be friendly, welcoming, fresh, and representative not only of the concept of the pharmacy, but of the towns, while remaining crisp and professional.
The dark/light green gradient is used prominently throughout all materials as a way to define a core look to the brand that people can remember/identify.
The brand overall is meant to feel fresh, clean, “green”, healthy, friendly, and approachable. There are several related-but-slightly-different affiliated companies, including Village Vitality.
The separate brands were originally designed differently, but are now being geared toward the same style.
In total, there have been dozens of campaigns completed for Village Apothecary, each with varying components. Posters, brochures, ads, flyers, cards, trade show displays, and all sorts of other materials have been designed.
An iPad App was also designed to allow customers a way to control their prescriptions, account info, etc. and to allow employees to more easily inventory and other in-house duties.
Several websites were created for the various brands, all with a similar visual style and theme. Users can submit refill requests, purchase products online, get discounts, and sign up for services and classes.
The website was designed to be responsive; to accommodate tablets, smartphones and any other mobile devices. It was built in WordPress, making it easily editable. Content can be added/removed/changed with a few clicks.
The mobile version of the website allows exactly the same functionality and information as the desktop version, but with an accommodating layout and structure. The branding is preserved as well, so the website “feels” the same and doesn’t look like a generic mobile template website.
